Leeds Locksmiths are a local based company that are always striving to do more for the customer. Gone are the days of ‘call out charges’, customers being charged ‘by the hour’ and ‘you’ve got to put the VAT on top of that love’…
At Leeds Locksmiths we have set prices, no call out charges, full telephone quotations and we’ve been told on many occasions we’re the cheapest in Leeds! We don’t look for quick fixes on our pricing because we strive for repeat business and word of mouth recommendations.
Leeds Locksmiths are one of the very few locksmiths across the country that also has a female operative. Each locksmith has a fully stocked van, key cutting machines and the ability to conduct auto locksmiths (cars) if required. We will always have the right equipment on board to gain non-destructive entry where possible.
As a company we only stock British Standard locks, and are insurance approved locksmiths. We cover work for the electricity, gas and water boards and are available 24:7. There will never be a time when the phone is switched off. We aim to deliver exactly what we say we will. No ‘if’s’ and no ‘but’s’ – if we agree a price we’ll stick to it.
We firmly believe that when it comes to locksmith work people are already in the process of questioning their current security measures –and generally are concerned about the robustness against today’s society. Certainly it seems that gangs of burglars and thieves find a new way into people’s houses and exploit it over a very short period of time. At Leeds Locksmiths we are always keeping one step ahead – so as quickly as a new ‘breaking and entering’ technique is revealed we will aim to solve the problem with a new security measure.
The latest technique across many towns and cities is snapping euro cylinders on uPVC doors – the criminals snap the cylinder out of the lock – push it through, flick the latch in the mechanism and ’hey presto’ open the door. With this in mind Leeds Locksmiths will supply and fit on request ‘anti-snap cylinders’. These types of cylinders have 3 snapping points as opposed 1 – and it means that when the cylinder is snapped it leaves the latch protected and therefore the mechanism still in the locked position.
You should never compromise on your house or businesses security – Leeds Locksmiths will offer a free consultation to assess your current security levels, and recommend either upgrading or replacing your current locks if required.
The final string in our bow is our auto locksmith section – over this winter period the demand has been phenomenal for this service. With the cold snap biting hard, we’ve all been out on the driveway, started the car, left it running to defrost and warm up whilst we get the kids ready, feed the dog and finish washing the dishes. Shut the house door behind us, walk to the car and realise the car has locked itself – keys sat in the ignition, car happily running away and you left stranded on the driveway! With this in mind – Leeds Locksmiths don’t charge anything more on our labour rate and ‘up’ the response time to 20 minutes as opposed to within the hour!
The company is single handily run by one woman (Frantic Locks) who during the recession was made redundant from her managerial position and decided to change careers. Leeds Locksmiths is going from strength to strength – and it’s all down to the “it does what it says on the tin” philosophy.
Cherwell is the name given to the northern governing district of Oxfordshire. Cherwell is mostly made up of rural settlements such as Islip and Hook Naughton. It is also blessed with some beautiful scenery. The two major towns in the area are Bicester and Banbury both of which serve the local rural community. They are essentially market towns but they have a wide range of both local and national retailers.
Everybody enjoys shopping and one of the most popular products to buy in Oxford is a pair of shoes. You can find almost anything that you need in these local towns and you are never too far away from Oxford itself for your shopping needs. This means that you can get regular shoes such as Iron Fist ladies shoes from these local shops but you may need to go a little bit further for specialist footwear like Fit Flop boots for instance. This being said shopping in the Cherwell district is more than adequate for those that live near by and if you want more you could always head off to a major city like Birmingham.
There are a number of things to do for all the family in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties. This makes it an excellent choice for a family holiday, as there are a number of different attractions available. The surrounding area has a wide range of interesting architecture including a number of castles. These are great for amazing your kids with tales of the knights of old and many of these castles also offer castle weddings if you’re interested in a themed wedding.
As Oxfordshire is very popular among families looking for an affordable holiday in the UK there is a wide range of accommodation available. There are the usual sorts of hotels but if you want something that is perfect for a family holiday then I would suggest looking for a good holiday cottage. The holiday cottages in the UK on offer are perfect for a family as they provide you with a self-catering base that you can use to travel to the different sights you want to see. They are also perfect if you want a family pet to join you on holiday as many booking companies offer dog friendly holiday cottages.
When we hear the terms ‘working from home’ or ‘work at home’ I think it is vital to define our grasp of exactly what it means. Some people might think it means the cleaning and cooking, or jobs around the home, others may think it means doing your work from home while looking after the children instead of getting in child care. It can be a loose term to cover all possibilities or a specific meaning of running a business from home. It may be that one person in a partnership is the main breadwinner and the other stays at home and does the management and maintenance of the home and looks after any children. In my experience this is in fact a full time job, usually one that is unpaid and unrecognised as work. I am a work at home Mum, and my type of business in computers doing website design lends itself brilliantly to a work from home situation and allows me more time to spend with my children.
Work at Home Definition
For the purpose of this article let us assume that working from home means that any job done is for the purpose of generating an money, and that the home office is where time is spent doing the business activity that will ultimately generate the income that you want. There are a number of success stories of people starting their businesses at the kitchen table and then being so successful they expand into vast organisations making millions.
Working in the Home
In today’s modern world, work at home opportunities exist in their thousands and hundreds of thousands. These opportunities range from lingerie parties, consultancy, creative writing, artworking or computer generated activities in fact the opportunities are far too numerous to list. If you already are an expert on a specialist subject then you may find that working from home is ideal, particularly when you can work as a consultant. If you are computer literate there are many opportunities to set up an income stream for yourself within the area of freelancing. Using a room as an office in your home is particularly suited to freelance sales or programming based activities.
If you get fed up of slogging to work every day, getting stuck in traffic, or paying large sums of money for public transport each year then it might be time to consider the option of working from home. You may feel you has the personality for home based work or you may have some ideas of how you can generate income if you work from home. Whatever your drive there are many opportunities and possibilities to create a new life style where you can work the hours that suit you, have a nice comfortable office and fit in family commitments.
What are some of the Advantages of Working from Home?
There are many benefits of working from home and usually they are the counter to the disadvantages of working in a large firm. For each individual there will be different points of view of the benefits. From my own experience of running a home based business, I love not having to commute every day. I don’t have to deal with office politics and I work the hours that fit with my natural rhythms. This means I use my energy more effectively, have more drive to do the work, and respond to the demands of customers. No more impotent meetings which really don’t achieve very much. Instead I can concentrate on getting the job done without the interruptions you find in a bigger company. If you want the best of working at a job and being freelance combined with being your own boss, offering a service like freelance sales could be the perfect solution.
Before I started my own business I performed freelance sales at this time it made me realise how much I enjoyed deciding for myself how to arrange my working day.
Work at Home Working Hours
You might just like the idea of not having to commute to work every day but have you considered not only the saving on cost but also on time? By not having to commute every day, you can save up to 2 hours a day, 14 hours a week. That is more than a complete working day. Consider how much time office politics and unnecessary meetings waste.
Meetings are sometimes necessary in large organisations to communicate and plan work schedules, but sometimes people set up meetings unnecessarily and they achieve very little. By working in the home youmay well be saving yourself anothertwelve or so hours a week. Imagine what you could do with the equivalent of an extra two to three days a week.
I found that when working from home I could achieve in one morning the amount of work it would take me a whole day to complete when working in an company.
Working at home means that you can prioritise your tasks and work the hours to suit your natural energy levels. Some days I can work until 12 midnight, and other days I might go and have my haircut at 9:00am, or go to the supermarket, at the times when everyone else is working and the shops are quiet. Working the hours to suit yourself may mean you are far more productive and creative than if you did a ‘nine to five’ job with a boss and colleagues to accommodate. Being able to concentrate on the jobs without interruptions means there is greater energy and motivation to respond to the enquiries and needs of the customers.
When I first started my own business, I was able to integrate running the home with my new work. After a concentrated spell of brain work on the computer, I would hang out the washing to dry. The activity and fresh air would refresh my brain and I could return to work with some new ideas.
Tax
One of the enormous advantages of working from home running your own business is being able to offset legitimate expenses before paying tax. When you are earning a salary, your tax is deducted at source, before paying out anything. So in fact the money you have available for paying bills and living expenses is reduced. When you are self employed the savings can be considerable because genuine business expenses are taken from your revenue before you pay tax. Tax is calculated on the final profit and is slightly less than personal tax on a salary, at the time or writing. If you don’t have a dedicated business phone you will need to calculate a percentage of household bills to be paid out of the business revenue. Lighting and heating and car costs are all legitimate business expenses as are accountancy fees, insurance and repairs and maintenance. The mileage you can claim is set down by the government, but it goes a long way towards the costs of using the family car for business.
Some large organisations encourage employees to work from home several days a week because it is a way of freeing up restricted office space. This was one of several new ideas to manage resources some 10 or 15 years ago. But even if that is not an option for you, it is still possible to set up a home computer and build a good income working part-time at home. Almost half of all self-employed workers, and more than 60 percent of those with home-based businesses, indicated the main reason for working from home was because their “business could be conducted from the home”.
One example of a small business that is run from home, is a client of ours who operate the electricity price comparison website, which supplies a priceless facility to families and small businesses due to increasing fuel bills these days.
There is a common misconception that running your own business is too risky or difficult. But today with the advent of the internet, home run businesses are easier than ever to set up and manage. The accounts can be done on a computer which once mastered becomes very easy. Advertising is extremely effective and relatively cheap if done through a website. So if you are capable at what you do, and you build up a reputation for delivering what you promise, then there is no reason why you cannot be a successful entrepreneur running the business from your home office.
Successful Home Based Businesses
A friend of mine worked in local government as a planner. He is a qualified surveyor with a degree, but working in local government only paid a poor salary, although it was a secure position and a good pension on retirement at sixty five years of age. His wife was a teacher, and she earned slightly more than he did, sobetween them they could just about get by on both salaries bringing up their two children.
One day he announced he was setting up in business on his own. He had had enough of the poor treatment, overwork and lack of respect he received in the department, apart from the low pay. He had some savings in the bank which gave him a bit of security. Since day one he has had lots of work, advising people on planning applications, the correct procedures for waste disposal, and what is or is not allowable in the planning world. He hasn’t looked back since and still he has not had to dip into his savings to top up his earnings. They have never been so affluent and when his wife became ill and had to give up her teaching job, they were still able to manage comfortably. He started up in the small back bedroom of their town house although he has now recruited other members of staff and expanded into separate offices. Due to being a planning consultant, he decided he had to work from legitimate commercial premises, although he still works from home 2-3 days a week.
Britain was once a nation of cottage industries and to some extent that state of mind is still part of our culture. Being independent, doing an honest day’s work for an honest day’s wage means that an individual can respect themselves and live in harmony with their neighbour. Once industrialisation began, that independent way of life was swept away and in the process something vital was lost. I think that in Britain as well as in many other countries, there is a yearning to return to a way of life that is ethical, sincere and honest. The fear of failure may prevent a lot of people from achieving their dream of working from home, but if it is something you really want to do then take heart and take a good hard look at the possibility.
When looking for an idea or possibility of a home based business people often have many more skills than they realise. Sometimes they are passionate about a hobby for which they may have considerable abilities but may not be thought of as important in the area of work. There are many cases where hobbies are transformed into a lucrative business. We all have significant transferable skills, but often we are blind to our own capabilities.
One of the up and coming work from home opportunities is ebay we recently took on a client who has made a reasonable income out of supplying digital blood pressure monitors via the ebay website, and a good thing about ebay is that you can even start part time, working evenings and weekends, as well as still doing your main job.
Stress and Working from Home
Sometimes setting up a new concern on your own can be stressful with not having the security of a regular wage and the question of it being a success. Once the business is underway, you will soon begin to get a feel of the lead time needed to conclude projects and get paid. I know now from experience that as long as there are leads in the pipeline that about half will come to fruition and generate income. Regular consumers, repeat orders and new work coming out of the blue is to be expected if your company is thriving. There is a rule of thumb that twenty percent of your customer base provides 80% of your revenue.
The counter to the type of stress outlined above is that a work from home lifestyle has benefits in terms of family commitments, working environment, and motivation. Being able to optimise your work so that you maximise energy and resources, gives you a sense of well being that leaves you feeling happy and healthy and eventually wealthy.
Prepare
If you feel you have the urge to be working from home, then use your thinking to plan. You can project and budget for the future and get funding in place, even if it does mean missing the family holiday this year. Train for any required new skills by going on courses and set yourself up with the necessary equipment. Give your current workplace the appropriate notice to fit with your goal. Finally have a clear picture in your head of how you will be in your new lifestyle, and picture in your mind how it feels.
Marketing
The next thing you will want to master is marketing. Setting up a website and marketing your home based business on the internet may be easier than you think and can be very effective way to achieve marketing success. Obviously, the more time you invest in marketing, the more your client base is going to grow. There are also a lot of freelance work provider websites these days where they do the marketing for you in return for a small commission from every job you complete, these kinds of websites are revolutionising the work at home industry making it much more accessible for more and more people.
Conclusion
Working from home has many bonuses and rewards. If you have the desire to become your own boss and it feels right to you, then there are plenty of opportunities for you to fulfil your potential. There are many success stories of men and women setting a business from the home and becoming much larger successful businesses. All you have to do is to follow your route to a better life. Work towards your goals and pay attention to the stages along the way. I know it may sound obvious, but so many people do not do the obvious.
Some time ago I stayed in a beautiful Salisbury Hotel, which is based just outside of Salisbury in Wilton. The Pembroke arms was gorgeous with stunning function rooms and bedrooms with 4 poster beds in them. Our stay was lovely and we felt very well cared for by the people there, the journey home was lovely in our comfortable and well used Mercedes Benz, as the sun shined for a lot of the journey. Our exploration about Salisbury had been really nice as the Cathedral was jaw dropping, watching over the city from its huge spire.
Within Salisbury there was a beautiful shop called Uggs that had been created with traditional oak frame techniques, it had lovely oak dowels through the major oak beams. It motivated us to have an extension on our house, using oak beams and the original oak frame techniques to create it. A regional wood worker was pleased to do the work but I wanted to select the oak beams myself. Once again I leaped into the trusty used Mercedes and went to a brilliant Timber supplier called Vastern timbers and they presented me with some stunning wood appropriate to the task at hand.
We quickly had the oak frame structure under way and it looked brilliant with the bold lines of the frame like some sort of skeleton as it grew out of the foundations we had put down for it. We have since completed the extension which looks fantastic and are due to make a journey down to the Salisbury hotel in our used Mercedes for another gentle break away from the day to day.
Nearly all consumers are initially exposed to the network marketing business by way of a close acquaintance or family member. While this may perhaps be a good thing in the long run, you need to step back and look at the organization, products and the compensation plan closely. Prior to you joining any program a colleague suggests, examine it out on your own. Ask yourself if you might join this business if this wasn’t your friend offering it? Might you use the services? Are they appropriately priced? Are they popular in the industry?
No one, well hopefully nobody, will invest their lifetime savings in a dishonest real estate deal or failing company stock. What continues to amaze me is the way consumers subscribe to network marketing companies without having even considering the essential business issues like stability, potential growth, acceptance of the products, advertising strategy and of course the dependability of being paid every month. In Network Marketing you might NOT be investing your money but you for certain invest your time. Plenty of it.

Mortgages in Spain
How to get a home loan for Spain
Mortgages or home loans (hipotecas) are available from most Spanish banks (for residents and non-residents), foreign banks in Spain, and overseas and offshore banks. In recent years, Spanish and foreign lenders have arranged a record number of spanish mortgages, the average amount borrowed being around 250000
The amount you can borrow depends on various factors such as your income, trade or profession, whether you’re an employee or self-employed, and whether you’re married, and if so, whether your partner works. Lenders may also have a maximum lending limit based on a percentage of your income, but this isn’t required by law.
Most banks offer mortgages of up to 8 per cent, although non-residents can usually borrow a maximum of 60 per cent only. To obtain a mortgage from a Spanish bank, you must usually provide proof of your monthly income and major outgoings (e.g. loans or commitments). There are no self-assessment mortgages such as in the UK and mortgages without proof of income (although advertised in the expatriate press) are difficult to find and virtually non-existent. If you want a Spanish mortgage to buy a property for commercial purposes, you must provide a detailed business plan in Spanish. Note that a mortgage can be assumed by the new owner (called subrogación) when a property is sold, which is a common practice in Spain.

Dyslexia was virtually unknown, unrecognized and certainly not understood up until approximately 25 years ago. Almost all that we know about dyslexia has been learned fairly recently.
Dyslexics see things differently. Their eyes are exactly the same as those of non-dyslexics, but their brains interpret the signals received in different manners. Because of this they learn differently. They need to be taught in the way they learn, not in the usual manner.
For roughly the last 15 years, as part of a program to help in overcoming dyslexia, school-age kids have all been screened for signs of dyslexia in children. Those identified as “probables” went through a full-blown test for dyslexia. Those dyslexics thus identified were subsequently taught according to the way they needed to be taught.
Those who went through grade school more than 15 years ago almost all bear the scars of being hammered into molds that did not fit. They were ridiculed for their differences, looked at as retarded (which most are definitely not!), slow learners, etc. They were embarrassed and learn to hide their differences.
Today there are millions of dyslexic adults still struggling to deal with the world through a dyslexic lens, not realizing that dyslexia is their problem and a simple dyslexia test could set them on the road to life-changing improvements.
There are a large number of different types of dyslexia to deal with. There is no standard definition, no real, workable way to sort them out into types and put them into nice, neat categories. Each one is different and needs to be evaluated and taught accordingly.
For adult dyslexics (part of the 2+ million) out there a dyslexic test could open up a whole new world of how to easily do things they had never been able to do before. Many adult dyslexics are identified when one of their children tests positive for dyslexia in school. Since dyslexia runs in families, parents of newly-identified dyslexics are often encouraged to be tested. Doing so has opened up new possibilities, new abilities, new careers for many.

Web style sheets have been around for a number of years, but their power and importance went largely unnoticed since few implementations existed. Web Designers, anxious to add creativity to their pages by influencing the presentation, began to use Netscape’s proprietary extensions rather than the more powerful style sheets. This was quite natural, since Netscape’s proprietary extensions could be seen by a significant portion of Web users, while few would see style sheet enhancements.
Today, more and more browsers are implementing style sheets, opening authors’ eyes to unique features that allow influence over web design while preserving platform independence. The advantages of style sheets became apparent, as did the disadvantages of continually creating more HTML tags for presentation effects.
Netscape’s BODY attributes are now widely accepted on the Web, and have become standardized in HTML 3.2. Yet BGCOLOR, TEXT and friends simply do not provide the flexibility of style sheets. Most background images would leave a page unreadable to someone whose display only offered 16 colors; many pages are difficult to read with only 256 colors. With conventional BODY attributes, a web designer must choose whether the benefits of a background image outweigh the costs; with style sheets, an author can offer a number of different images, in different style sheets, so that the user can choose the “24-bit style sheet” or “8-bit style sheet,” depending on how many colors his or her system can display. If no author-supplied style suits the user, he or she can simply ignore the web designer’s style.
Style sheets can make an author’s life much easier. While one could use <HR WIDTH=”75%” SIZE=5 ALIGN=center> for every horizontal rule, this becomes very cumbersome for the web designer. With style sheets, one only needs to specify such presentational preferences once, and the style can be applied to an entire site. And if the author decides that WIDTH=”50%” would be better, then he or she only needs to change this preference in one place, rather than having to search through hundreds of pages to change the HTML. Not only that, but style sheets also reduce download time when one file contains all the style information.
Style sheets also offer much more flexibility in terms of the presentation effects that they provide. Properties such as color, background, margin, border, and many more can be applied to all elements. With just HTML and its proprietary extensions, one must rely on attributes like BGCOLOR, which are only available for a few elements. Style sheets give the flexibility of applying a style to all paragraphs, or all level-two headings, or all emphasized text.
With style sheets, authors can use the text-indent property to indent text, rather than resorting to ugly kludges like <DD> or <IMG SRC=”blank.gif” WIDTH=10 ALT=”"> that carry with them many negative side-effects. Margins can be suggested without having to put the entire page in a table. Style sheets also reduce the need for multi-file search and replace; if an author decides to change the indentation of all paragraphs on a site, he or she only has to change one line on a style sheet.
Style sheets represent an enormous step forward for web design. With the separation of content and presentation between HTML and style sheets, the Web no longer needs to drift away from the strong ideal of platform independence that provided the medium with its initial push of popularity. Web designers can finally influence the presentation of documents without leaving pages unreadable to users.
Gone are the days when you have to look after your rice while it is cooking. With the help of rice cookers, you simply need to turn on the appliance and wait for the rice to get cooked. That’s why rice cookers have become very useful as a kitchen necessity. If you are in the market for rice cookers, it is best to look for one that is bound to last for years to come. Another thing that you need to remember is that you should get a get a brand and model of rice cooker which cooks food perfectly. Read on to find out the factors that you need to consider when looking for a reliable rice cooker brand and model.
Rice Cooker Features which Make a Brand Stand Out
Of course, rice cookers are expected to cook rice. But most rice cookers today also provide you with additional features. One of them is steaming vegetables. You can do this while cooking rice and really save time preparing your meals. In addition to vegetables, you can also cook dimsum, stews and other steamed dishes. You can also use the steaming basket to heat your leftover or pre-cooked food. Since you can do this simultaneously with cooking rice, it will not only take you lesser time to prepare your meals but also save on electricity.
What Else to Look for from a Rice Cooker
In choosing the rice cooker to use for your home, you need to check on its quality and durability. Make sure to look for trusted brands like a National Rice Cooker. Panasonic rice cookers would also give you give you the best bang for your buck, in the same way that the National brand would. It also has non-stick features, making it easier to clean and use.
The number one thing to consider when looking for durable rice cookers is the type of material that it is made of. For instance, a Cuisinart rice cooker is made from stainless steel, which makes this particular brand more dutable than other brands. Another thing that Cuisinart rice cooker is known for is its style which would look great against a contemporary dining room with its unique square shape.
Another thing which make Cuisinart rice cookers stand out is its fuzzy logic technology – making it an ‘intelligent’ rice cooker. It can sense fluctuations in cooking and automatically adjust by itself so that it can give perfect cooking results. The fuzzy logic-type rice cooker can also be used for cooking oatmeal, stews, soups and many others.
With the advancement in technology these days, it is no wonder why rice cooker models have become top-of-the-line, too. When choosing which brand and model of rice cooker to buy, you need to consider your personal tastes when it comes to cooking, its durability, as well as your budget.
